Okay, I came up with a workaround to the null board issue that I think everyone will appreciate.

The problem probably has to do with the database indexes taking longer to build as the forum gets bigger and more cluttered. If that's the case, then the issue will get more prevalent, until it hits a critical mass where I have to solve the problem using partitioning or something.

People should notice the workaround on the next null board roll. I'm sure it will be sufficient for the time being.
