I caught some of it. The original is of course better but it was still enjoyable.

They're tougher on who qualifies in the original. They go easy on the contestants in the US version and base it on overall time even if you don't finish. I like that in the Japanese version you had to finish and finish before time ran out or you were eliminated. No taking your time and catching your breath.
