I've used reusable bags longer than anyone else I know, I've given them as gifts (pretty ones!), and more. if paper are offered, I choose (and reuse)

them until they fall apart and then I recycle them; but! there are buts. plastic bags (especially the super nifty new versions of degradable ones that don't just sit around for xxx years under trash piles) have their uses.
from food service to pet duty, there's a place for them.
