I had the same issue with Avengers. Multiple theaters only had 3D and I won't see a film in 3D.

And the theaters that did have the 2D didn't have anywhere close to as many showings. The 3D was showing every hour on multiple screens while the 2D was on one screen with only five showings the whole day. It was a project to find a showing that worked.
