yeah, when she first asked me, I made a point of ...

telling her in a way as to say that I might not be there ... I would hate to give a definite "Yes I'll be there" and then not show up ... I like to have built in 'outs' in the event that something should come up to prevent my keeping my word on something ...
and besides, in this day of everyone being overly cautious (not necessarily saying this is a bad thing) towards their children and the childrens' safety, and therefore sometimes quick to pass judgement, I have to watch my ass as much as I can. The last thing I need to get branded a child molestor or something when none of that crap's going on here ..
