I just mean that I can spend $15 for 2 - 2.5 hours of entertainment at a movie or I can spend $50 or more for a concert, game, opera, etc.

And that doesn't include the cost of parking.
Roughly the same amount of time (the other options may run closer to 3 hours) for a comparatively small amount of money. From a bang-for-your-buck standpoint, movies are still a good way to go.
