Yep. It's also similar to the Tea Party's attitude towards taxes - why bother, it will be wasted on stuff we don't want + it's our patriotic duty! -- nm

So many of America's founding myths are about tax and refusing to pay it. The Boston Tea Party, no taxation without representation, etc
