And trust me, I didn't tell her to cut your dad some slack. Anyone who buys a convertible 2 weeks after his wife dies as a "fuck you, I have what you would never let me get, see?" and parks it in front of her grave while he's at his mother's funeral doesn't really get pleas from me of slack.

My thing was, I can see why he's not in a rush to kick your brother out of the house, given how much upheaval he's already gone through in a short amount of time. (6 months later, yeah, no real excuses there...)
