In the books there is lots of discussion about Renley's ghost leading the charge against Stannis.

The Tyrells are very opportunistic. Margaery gets a lot more face time than in the books (no POV chapters for her, I don't believe) and effectively conveys the feelings of House Tyrell when Littlefinger talks with her.
