yeah, the theory was, modern computerized distributor warehouses would lower the cost, but yeah, things are a lot more expensive

the ads show a lower price, but they add the state liquor tax (almost $4 a liter) and our almost 10% sales tax....before there was no sales tax because it was sold by the state.
the one bright note, eventually there will a lot more variety, safeway, QFC will offer up to 350 items vs the average 120 at a state store.
we'll be able to buy those boutique distillery stuff, odd brand whiskeys, there must be 500 bourbon and rye brands but only 3 were for sale here
