I do think some positive change is happening from this.
|
The truce isn't perfect, but it's causing people to reconsider their views on the situation in a way that the old ways of open season on insult-trading did not.
This is because the truce has brought out a few events in the last months - the posts that led to Jim leaving, loosi's comment to Max and now her post on B2 - that are making people think how they should act when these things blow up.
There are always going to be people firmly on one side or the other and individuals who behave badly.
But these days I think more STers have a greater appreciation that this is not a black-and-white situation, and they are choosing to defuse bad situations rather than escalate them through a knee-jerk response.
