and I'm torn as to whether or not to start reading the GoT books

i'm such a slow slow reader that i think it would take me *months* to finish one.

i'm not sure i could even keep the names straight - i can identify the characters (usually) on the tv series by appearance, but the names i can't keep up with. i couldn't tell you, for instance, the name of theon's sister.

heather's a superfast reader with great retention, and it's taken her a week or longer to read each one. that doesn't bode well for me.

but, if i decide to try it, i should probably just start with the third one, right? it's not critical for me to go back and read the first two? if i start with #3, i might be able to finish dance with dragons by the time that #6 is published.
