I just don't get the uproar over using beetle shells to get carmine. It's not like a secret or anything.

It's been used clear back to like the 2nd egyptian dynasty. I suppose when the news is dull, then the newscasters have a list of crap they report on to get people's panties in a bunch and this was carmine's turn.
