I confess to not having watched Firefly, but I didn't care about Buffy or Angel.

One of the reasons might be that he entrenches his stories so much into the American college volksgeist, which to me feels a bit like an Alien civilization.
Saw Dr. Horrible yesterday and while on paper sounded funny, it just wasn't. A musical about teen angst? Pass.
