test 1: 1 out of 1 correct = 100%
test 2: 0 out of 100 correct = 0%
if both test score are weighed equally you have:
100% and 0% = 50%
but if you take 1 right out of 101 you have 0.9%
so, if you count each total test as equal you get a different percentage than if you count each question as equal
