I'm not a musical person. I did love tripping back down memory lane. It was the music of my generation. The mash ups worked well. The young lovers were cheesy. Tom Cruise *almost * pulls off corrupted/washed out Rocker. If he hadn't broken out into song ( he was not the one singing) it would have worked better.
Alec Baldwin was a high light as well as Catherine Zeta-jones. She embraces that character
