All in all I was not a fan of the movie (this got a best picture nom? Seriously?) but it was one of those movies where some part of it I really liked would sort of cancel out something I didn't. All in all, it was just sort of "there", but I did like the supporting actors. The kid also had a few shining moments (I felt really bad for him when he admits to Jeffrey Wright that he was home when his father made the final call, and asks for forgiveness. That has to be hard for any kid to hold onto). But I'd probably only give it a C-.
