Thoughts on the finale of The Killing (spoils)

Pretty good final episode. Had my attention more than many of the ones that came before it this season. Tragic twist on the events at the lake and a tough scene to watch with Rosie's final screams.
So that's that. Some bad people with knowledge of who did what got away with it and are in the Mayor's circle suggesting that what Mayor Adams said was true about it changing you, not you changing it.
Stan and the family are in a new house but doesn't he still have to go to jail for nearly killing Bennett Ahmed with that beatdown in S1? And what a waste of time the mom leaving home for that period of time was. She cheated on her husband and befriended someone Rosie's age for all of two or three episodes. The writers really had no clue what to do with her through S2.
As I said before, it was promising but went off the rails quickly. I hope this concludes the series.
