my NY cousin has a 'broken' back, his insurance co tells him to see a specialist on this list, none of whom are accepting his ins anymore, any advice?

My (lack of) Health Insurance company told me to find a specialist on their website which lists providers (doctors). Most of them no longer accept their health insurance or none are the specialty (spinal orthopedist) I need. In my opinion that is false advertising and fraud. I have demanded they pay "out of network" and have to get a special letter from my GP to them for them to "consider" them granting that. Then I have to find an orthopedist who can see me (as one just told me, August!!!) immediately as I needed one the day after I got out of the E.R. 12 effing days ago. Kafka must be thinking to himself, "this is exactly what I had in mind." And, let's not discount the hours on hold, times I was cut-off, unable to sit in a chair to deal with this crap, the ins co insisting the med records dept. of the ER call them and vice-versa and each refusing to call the other to authorize my MRI for which I've paid out-of-pocket. The is insanity.
