In response to "I went for 3 weeks with my family when I was 12. So you're saying the high price tag is worth it? Even in my home country? -- nm" by Hotkiss

i haven't done it myself; but, based on most experiences i've heard, i wish i had.

i'm not one who'll advise going into debt for experiences, thus mention of responsibility; but, if you can swing it without much risk/pain that way...

an adult in a different (ok, non-canada) country living for months has way more life-impacting/broadening/deepening potential than a vacation at 12. :) - plus you'd have at least a bit of comfort with the language? that's a plus to me. and maybe friends/family in case of emergency or loneliness? those are pluses, too.
