that's simple caramel? I think toffee usually has butter.

iirc, the treacle kind is made with, er, treacle (sort of like molasses) instead of sugar.
watch out for your teeth, c_c!
(I resisted english candy at fresh & easy yesterday, woo. ::sucks on sugar free werthers:: ;) -)
