so I read somewhere online that whenever Pixar makes a technical advance in animation, they make a movie to highlight it. Like, water = Finding Nemo. Hair = Brave.

they were working on hair with Monsters Inc..but NPR had a piece on a workshop with the cgi/animators, the jargon could power a starship -- nm - zeitgeist Jun 22, 21:29
