for your area, you'd probably need studded tires for winter/spring driving cause you never know when you'll find black ice, this is the chains I have- -- (link)

expensive, find out what size you need, search for them on ebay, eventually you'll get them for under $100

sorta, but if you are driving up a hill in Jan/Feb then black ice is a big issue in the hills/lakeside/puget sound areas, especially over creek bridge

I am definitely thinking of getting extra winter tires and putting them on myself, but studded is overkill I think -- nm
