He's very happy to have found out now before something bad happened. The gas line wasn't finished yet and there was still some other minor repairs that needed to be finished.

He didn't think about it but I told him he's lucky this was the situation and that the fake guy didn't just rip all the copper out of the house and destroy all the work that had been done up to now.
