This has been my process for repair my uncle-in-law's computer so far.

- Boot into Windows, try to login, realize I don't have his password.

- Boot into Windows safe mode, login as administrator (no password? WTF!) Run an anti-virus from a thumb drive and only detect a few ad-ware toolbars, nothing unusual.

- Get password, boot into Windows, login, and discover... OMG, this computer is fucked!

- Create a bootable thumbdrive, realize the computer is so old you can't boot from a thumbdrive.

- Consider creating a bootable floppy disc, realize that my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive.

- Consider creating bootable DVD, realize that the computer doesn't have a DVD drive.

- Consider creating a bootable CD... wonder if maybe I have some blank CDs... SUCCESS!

Thanks to Kaspersky, I've created a bootable CD. Works great. This P.O.S. computer has a fucking rootkit on it. I'm gonna smack my uncle-in-law upside his head. I should never have brought this computer into my house.
