If you feel that libraries are important but I don't, why does your priority win and now I have to pay taxes to support something I don't value?

(I like libraries. I'm only using this as an example. Mara, please don't hurt me.)

I understand that as a society we have put forth certain things that we deem as worthwhile. But I also understand why those who are in the minority aren't happy that they have no choice in the matter.
