When I had my gall bladder out last year in Florida.....

(note: all providers were 'in-network')

I wound up in the ER, had an abdominal CT scan and an ultrasound, then was admitted, had surgery (macroscopic) and was in the hospital one night.

The negotiated (reduced) rice my insurance company got for everything was just shy of $10,000 (I don't recall if that included the surgeon).
