If I'm not mistaken the bigger # is their quoted cost and the lesser # is the negotiated "Good Guy" rate the insurance has pre-negotiated.

In other words: The big # is what you pay if you have no insurance, but my insurance company has the clout to get cheaper rates for their customers.
So if I didn't have insurance, 4 days in the hospital would cost as much as 4 years in some colleges.
