I'm not sure why they are so big on it. Maybe it's the level you can micromanage everything. But you really don't get much play time vs dialogue.

It's much like Final Fantasy X (which admittedly is also highly rated.)
I naturally do recommend Skyrim. There is a lot of traveling that may be tiresome, but it's such a beautiful adventure. And if you're only playing that little, it could quite honestly last you years.
