A quick Google search seems to indicate: prognosis negative.

Your Mac is screwed. I assume you're running Lion and Lion doesn't come with a Apple Software Restore Disc, but should come with a recovery partition (see link). When you follow this process, it formats your hard drive. It's not a recovery. It's a restore. You're restoring to factory settings. So back everything up.
