even if I have crappy service, I tip 8% for gross receipts reasons. I hate that I can't like, leave a penny in good conscience.

my norm is just over 20% (on full check, not check minus tax) at restaurants and 30% at bars.
100% tip night is not uncommon though for good service or if I'm in a good mood.
