Two different people from the dealership called me today about that Ford Escape Hybrid. Heh.

Sales guy (I missed it, he left a voice mail volunteering to drive it to our mechanic). And sales manager, whom I did talk to, and I said we'd look for one with a clean carfax report.

I really do think the $3700 repair cost is just "cracked bumper, had to replace the whole part and the sensors on it, plus labour". Anything more severe than that and it would have been over $5K easily. But my wife's right, we ought to be able to find one that hasn't been in an accident. And likely one that doesn't have almost 100,000 KMs on it.

However, I did do some pretty thorough searches yesterday and today, and I couldn't find very many hybrid ones for sale at all - and of all the ones I've found, none of them have had the trip computer that would be the killer feature convincing me to check it out :)
