Tuesday I saw my knee surgeon for a follow-up. He decided that a suture under the skin on my knee was irritated and had to come out. He thought about doing it right then and there, but decided the risk of infection was too scary.
So his assistant scheduled me for a "10 minute" procedure at the out-patient facility at 7 am this morning.
Not only did they send me to the wrong building, but when I got to the right one it turned into a full-blown operation.
I thought they'd stick my knee with a local anesthetic, swab it down with antiseptic, cut out the suture, and and I'd be out by 7:30.
It turned into a whole cap & gown, gurney to the OR, general anesthetic, out-cold, surgery, with 2 hours in the recovery room.
Surprise!
How much is this gonna cost?
