2007 was the killer year stat wise, all the later ones were closer.

Stats can be used to prove just about anything, and has been proven regular season means very little if you can't also do it when it matters.
Anyone can just look at stats and say Person X is better than Person Y cause he has 4 more yards and 2 more touchdowns, but alot more should be considered than just a few stats. Which is why your Marino/Dilfer analogy is so flawed. No one would say that, but in a case where their stats aren't that far apart (2007 skews it majorily for Romo) you have to consider the other aspects of their games.
