This NYT editorial covers an interested (for me) topic. I've always viewed poverty as an inner-city phenomenon.

Probably because growing up outside of NYC in the 80s, it really was (mostly) an inner-city problem. But with poverty growing in / moving to the suburbs, we have unique challenges because the suburbs were specifically designed for the middle class and affluent.
