actually I really think there is a link between what is the cheapest in thrift/retro and goodwill stores, students and urban artists, barristas...

and rock band wannabees wear whatever shit they find, and it gets adopted by urban living designers/boutique clothiers.
often people clean out closets and dump the stuff that's 20 years old, or their parent dies and all that stuff gets dropped off at the donation station.
look at what happened when catholic schools stopped with the plaid uniforms, within a year the school girl look was EVERYWHERE
