The humidity has only been 5-10%, so the rain evaporates about the time it leaves the clouds.

Add to it the extremely high temps and the 25-45 mph winds and we're a tinderbox. So when you see a storm cell over us, all we get is the lightning and thunder. All but one of the fires we've had this week were due to lightning strikes.
