We are selling our old house. It needs work, we acknowledge that fact. We also acknowledge our own limitations and interest in putting time and money into the old house. So we're selling it "as is". We got an offer within the first week from a guy who flips houses. He's paying cash for the house and he hit our goal for what we wanted to get for the place. All good, right?
We had the dye test today and passed it. But our borough also requires a camera test and that found roots in the sewer line. I don't know if the borough is going to force us to repair the line in order to sell the house. If so, that's going to remove all of the profit from the sale for us, assuming it doesn't nuke the deal outright.
This sucks.

Are you sure it's that costly? This Old House makes it look so easy. Anyway, is it so bad if you break even? -- nm

If so, call the buyer and say, "You are buying as is, and plan to flip it so would have to do it, so this on you." -- nm
