It's all about perspective. A lot of people outside ST would tell us to not let "that internet message board" get us upset.

But, at times, we do. Why? Because ST means more to us than just being a message board. It's personal relationships, bonds made over time that mean more than your average internet forum. So, when those relationships and bonds break down, it hurts us.
Similarly, playing Halo with STers is more than just a game for them. I agree with your overall underlying point that taking things to seriously doesn't help. Winning isn't everything. Everyone's version of fun is different. Again, perspective is needed. Perhaps, even some time off for those that play Halo together, but it obviously means a lot to these guys.
I think Truman is possibly taking what you said as more dismissive than you intended.
