Anyone point out how much money for art is really worth?

To some degree any money for art, in any economy is stimulus money. It's rarely that huge an amount in relation to what the corporations get, but it tends to go a lot further. In theater a company gets some funds to put on a play, rarely do those funds cover the whole costs. The audience comes to see the play and pays for tickets. If they drive they pay for parking, maybe stop off for dinner before the play and drinks after. So right there that money's helped out a parking lot (not that they usually need it), a bar and a restaurant, not to mention the actors, crew and office workers.
