Jim has discussed it before, i don't like to speak for him, but he doesn't like the policy.

i think what my concern is with your approach isn't that you are involved in Scouting. That's not really a problem. You could say something like "i disagree with the policy entirely and I know for a fact that the discrimination is never discussed by our troup. I make sure my son knows we don't do this. I decided that the benefits of Scouting were worth it to me and my son because on the local level this policy is not enforced."

i think people would get that. Life isn't black or white, lesser of two evils, etc etc.

but you seem to be *defending* the policy, that's what is puzzling.
