While I would disagree with this policy, I wouldn't use it to dismiss the Boy Scouts out of hand.

I would venture to say that on balance the good they do outweighs the bad by a good margin. Not that I was particularly wanting to anyway, but if I wanted to become a Scoutmaster/counselor/etc. I think there are other organizations that could provide me with a similar enough outlet for that sort of thing.
