Come on - are you really 100% comfortable with the decision?

A child is given up for adoption without parental consent? And when she challenges, the adoptive parents spend four years in legal battles? And then they say "Think of the child - he has been with us for four years now?"

That way of doing things simply rewards bad behaviour - it gives the adoptive parents an incentive to gum up the legal process until they get what they want.

Obviously the court has to consider the welfare of the child, and in this case they said it was best for him to stay with the adoptive parents. I'm not second guessing the decision.

But at the same time, it's a gut-punch for the mother, and I can't help feeling empathy for her situation.
