You "control" the tool. No one has said ban guns to my knowledge.

but in a world where I can buy a mass-murder tool at a gun show with the barest of fuss, there's a problem.
Dawson's 100% right in the comment to the middle ground to ML. A National Registry, one devoted to making sure that bad guys and confirmed nutjobs don't get guns would be a good start. But the NRA has gotten any attempts at that to be a really toothless endeavor.
It's not gun-banning, it's gun control.
