I'd imagine a couple things. The fear of actually taking a human life, ever someone who deserves it, has got to be incredible.

Also...what if I miss the shooter and hit one of the innocent people scrambling for their lives? Am i prepared to live with killing a kid or something while I'm trying to play Bernie Getz?
Of course...these are the very reasons I'll never own a gun...so maybe I'm a bad person to answer this.
