And I'm not saying you're wrong. As a Sociology major, I'm reminded of the dilemma of collective behavior.

Actions that are good for the individual are often bad for the collective group (a.k.a. society). Having a few heroes out in movie theaters or wherever packing heat and ready to take down people like this will no doubt save lives...
Now, what if everyone packed heat and tried to be a hero...
