Headshot would do the trick, yes, but a bulletproof vest doesn't mean the shot just bounces off of you. It will very likely knock you down if not completely incapacitate you. Not to mention what a bullet to the arm, leg, or groin would do to eliminate the shooter's composure and resolve.
