Even though they racheted up the stakes with the nuclear bomb, I never felt the impending doom or menace of the previous film. I was kinda bored in long stretches, and for a while I actively wanted to see Bane crush Batman. Because of that, Batman *rising* from the pit wasn't the triumph the movie wanted it to be.
I have to say I was genuinely surprised by the Miranda Tate twist, but even with that I just couldn't get into it. Everything was well done. Nice acting, directing, allegory and symbolism. Things were in place for a very powerful ending, I just never truly felt it.
