to me it's like drunk driving. until enough families get upset enough about having their sons, daughter, mothers, and fathers killed by guns and work

to change society's acceptance of these 14k deaths every year as "just the way it is" then that tolerance will continue. before MADD was founded, drunk driving deaths were tolerated as simply a cost of using the public roads but in 30 years, that's been reversed at least as a legal proposition, if not an actual societal change in behavior
