I'm curious as to why a pitcher was allowed to hit 3 batters in less than an innings work and not be tossed. -- nm

Because the pitcher had only given up one run and has the nickname of King. -- nm

I'd love to find a stat on something like this. I would think most pitchers would have been tossed after #2. -- nm

if a Yankee pitcher would have hit a Mariner after that, a warning would have been issued. nm -- nm

by all rights he should have been pulled by his manager for not making his pitches.

I think your reaction is biased as a Yankee and Arod hater. If three Sox were hit you'd be pissed and not making excuses.

and yes, I likely would be upset if it were 3 Sox getting hit.

If he's notorious for hitting guys they shouldn't have let him stay in long enough to hit a third.

and as every real baseball fan knows much is implied when it comes to getting hit by a pitch. 3 batters hit is too much. -- nm

Forget the pitch. He hit three guys! He had poor control. You eject him for not controlling his pitches and hitting THREE guys. -- nm

No but it is his job to eject a pitcher that continually hits batters which is the result of his poor control. -- nm

loss of control is a quality of play issue, it's not against any rules that I know of.

Arod doesn't crowd the plate and he's always looking for the inside pitch. I don't think you can blame him at all.

They usually warn both teams after one hbp but almost always after the second. He wasn't even tossed after the third! Intentional or not he should
